Superchilled at work...

Things I did at work today...

Glued a boy’s eyebrow back together after his mum kindly opened a car door in his face…

Stuck needles in so many people I can’t recall the exact number. I do recall was a 4year old who sat there and took it like a man, I was impressed. He didn’t flinch. Even with the second needle.

Made a baby vomit by using a tongue depressor rather brutally, thankfully my chair has wheels and I fast reflexes. Mum wasn’t so lucky…

Gave morphine orders for a patient who is dying.

Followed up a very cute, bright and tall patient who has a chronic head injury following playing football. Dreamy.
If only he could remember…

Tried to get a history out of a man who had just finished nightshift, about his son who was handed to him when he got home from work. I ended up calling the mum.

Saw one of my favourite patients who is an eternally travelling entymologist, and discussed his recent trip to Africa.

Counselled a couple who both suffer from marked depression about ongoing medication.

Removed the last traces of pus from a facial infection on a teenage girl, you should have seen it YESTERDAY eeek… Poor girl.

There was more of course - but that's enough for today.

You win with volume but I have been dealing with a patient that had to have a hysterectomy and an partial bowel resection as a result of a competitive product. The patient was the med. reps own wife. BTW, I am moving to Washington DC@!

but it must be great, at the end of the day, to know you have helped heal people.

On behalf of the public of NSW - Thanks Trevor :)

I have to say I really enjoy work, so I don't need to be thanked. And I do get paid for it too.

But yes it does make you feel great to see people benefitting from your treatment.

So you're off to Washington Jed? A new political career? (Or a politician's husband?)

Anyone have their own doctor/patient stories to tell?

Asking for doctor/patient stories on this blog leaves it wide open. Yes to be with Joe but I am actually transferring with my company. We are actually getting a place just a few miles from Brian and his partner. So..when we get rid of the current administration and elect someone with some intelligence, you and the Frenchman need to make an appearance.

Meanwhile, in the IT shop at a large Canadian bank, a young lad conducted a successful resource management meeting and calculated earned value for a multi-million $$$ program underway. My life is meaningless.
